Education is not charity. Education is justice.

Paghman, Afghanistan
Project start: 2025

Your donation for clean water at a school in Afghanistan:

Four years of Taliban rule in Afghanistan. Four years of escalating crises.
Four years of silence from the international community.

What remains? Financial poverty. Collapsing structures. Deportations. Education bans. But also: commitment. Resistance. The will to learn.

Solidarity - especially now.

While funding is being cut, millions of lives are at stake. While the world looks away, children in Afghanistan are fighting for a self-determined future. While girls are systematically deprived of their rights, they continue to dream – of security, of freedom, of independence.

We stay. We listen. We act.

For 20 years, Visions for Children has been working with local partners to improve education in Afghanistan. In times of crisis and under extreme conditions. We have reached almost 50,000 students in the country to date.

But the crisis remains – and it hits hardest those who are least responsible for it: children.

We cannot allow this to happen, and we must not allow it to happen. When government action fails, we need our collective strength. We can all make a statement – for humanity, for education, for Afghanistan.

High-quality education is not a given in Afghanistan. We are continuing to advocate for it, especially now.

What your donation enables: Focused learning at Muaz bin Jabal Elementary School.

The first step? Water. This is urgently needed in the heat of the Afghan summer – when days reaching 40 degrees Celsius are not uncommon!

A further €5,653 is needed to build a drinking water well. A sum that could completely change everyday school life.

Because water is an essential foundation: Drinking water for concentrated learning – especially on hot days. Handwashing facilities for disease prevention. Toilets and the opportunity for girls to wash during their periods. Feeling comfortable in clean classrooms.

Together we create: safe spaces for learning and playing. Education in elementary schools – where it's still possible. Perspectives amidst crises.

And beyond that?

Stay informed. Talk about it. Share content on social media. Speak up. Demand political action. Start a fundraiser – with your community, at your next event, or just because.

Every donation counts. Every action makes a difference. Together we create change.
