OUR WINTER EMERGENCY RELIEF 2025
We are starting this year’s humanitarian winter emergency relief with winter packages for deported Afghans.
Over 4 million Afghans have been forcibly deported from Pakistan and Iran since 2023 – arriving back in a country from which they have already been forced to flee without any belongings.
Children, women, widowed households, internally displaced persons and people who are particularly vulnerable due to financial poverty or persecution are particularly affected.
The winter is making their situation dangerously worse: temperatures are already dropping below 0 degrees at night; in the coming months there is a threat of temperatures as low as -40 °C. Winter can be life-threatening for returnees.
